Gift wrapping for me always tends to be a tradition that I love. I sit in front of the TV, turn on a couple movies (Elf and The Holiday are my favs), and have a glass of wine. If you want to be crafty and unique with your gift wrapping this year, I'll clue you in to a few fun and simple ideas for you to spruce up your holiday presents. If you like what you see, you can sign up for my newsletter and download some easy gifting DIY kits from Bestowe.

This year, I found a new love...the Cricut. It's an awesome machine that acts as a printer, but cuts very complex patterns in seconds too. It also prints, but I've been having so much fun using it for cutting I haven't even started anything else. I borrowed this from my friend for the sake of this tutorial and it was love at first cut. I've made two different tags, composed of various pieces. Once put together, they make some really cute poinsettias and pine cones gift tags.

WRAPPING PAPER:

There are so many options for wrapping gifts these days. My go-to has been simple kraft paper with a unique way to tie it up. I like that it's easy and creates a uniform look under the tree. Last year, my son and I drew and colored in our own trees on long rolls of paper. This year, I wanted to find a way to one-up myself, so I designed a couple of patterns, had them made into screen printing screens (at a local screen printing shop) and print off a bunch at home. Some of this was of course for Bestowe, but I found the process a lot easier than it sounds. The screens were only $30 a piece and now I have them to print more, and in different colors, anytime I want. Here are my screens set up in my kitchen with a simple clamp I bought on Amazon. If you'd like to purchase these papers, email me. There is a minimum order for each 24x36 sheet.

The fun part could then begin: my son and I coloring in the designs over hot chocolate.

Ok. I know that getting a screen made is a bit more than most people can do. I'll give you a simpler version to help you feel crafty in way less time. This is also a fun activity to do with the kiddos. The standard potato stamp or rubber stamp method. All you need are a few potatoes, and some tools to carve them into a shape of your desire. I carved these cut trees into a rubber stamp, stuck them on some old boxes and stamped on paper.
